Make a stand for sanitation and water!

4 December 2009

End Water Poverty is excited to launch ‘The World’s Longest Toilet Queue’, a global mobilisation that needs YOU and  thousands across the world to stand in solidarity with – and demand action for - the 2.5 billion people who are still waiting in line for their right to a safe and dignified toilet.

On World Water Day, 22 March 2010, we call on you as leaders in the fight to end the global sanitation and water crisis, to hold creative and politically engaging events that will help us create the Guinness World Record for the “World’s Longest Toilet Queue”.

The event is coorganised by End Water Poverty, the Freshwater Action Network and the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council.

Organise queues for change in your own country and community, and utilize this global moment to pursue your own national campaign aims, as well as help influence a global political moment just one month later: government ministers will meet in Washington at the first High-Level Meeting on Sanitation and Water. And the World's Longest Toilet Queue is our chance to ensure they take action.

Find everything you need to know on a dedicated website, www.worldtoiletqueue.org, including resources, news and information on key global events.

Get involved and make a stand for sanitation and water for the 4,000 children dying as a result of the crisis and the billions more still standing in line for a toilet.
