by | May 27, 2016 | News

29 May is a very important global day – Menstrual Hygiene Day!

This is a global awareness day to highlight the challenges that women and girls face around the world due to their menstruation. We need to work together to break the silence, and ensure that all women and girls are able to reach their full potential. Join the campaign and show your support!
For all information about the day, as well as all campaigns materials, social media guides and other resources, visit the Menstrual Hygiene Day website. Follow the discussions and show your support on social media using the hashtags: #menstruationmatters #MenstrualHygieneDay #MHDay
EWP members WASH United and Simavi have collaborated to develop a very useful infographic explaining how menstruation matters to achieving Agenda 2030 and the new global sustainable development goals. Please find this attached or available for download online.
WaterAid have also developed a number of great resources ahead of Menstrual Day. They have produced a photograph story, asking teenage girls in rural Nepal to photograph their experiences of menstruation and how this affects their daily lives. This is a powerful and moving piece about the challenges and difficulties women and girls face. Available on online on Medium.
They have also developed a great film ‘Period Dramas’ available online! Share with your networks and friends!
Together we can ensure a better future for all!
