Global initiatives such as the SWA Partnership can help increase the political will and priority allocated to WASH issues by decision-makers through dialogue, joint stakeholder action and increased visibility of the sector.
However, the success of the Partnership relies on the momentum of the global level being translated into concrete action at the national level, ensuring the SWA dialogue is owned, driven and embedded in existing country level processes and that commitments made by donors and governments at the global High Level Meetings every two years are actually implemented on the ground.
Civil Society Organisations/Networks such as yours therefore have a key role to both bring the voices of the communities that the Partnership aims to support into the discussions and to contribute and follow-up on commitments made by governments and donors.
With you as SWA CSO Country Focal Points, we hope to radically improve the communication flow among CSOs in different countries engaged in SWA and strengthen the links between the CSOs and all other key SWA partners such as governments, donor countries, research institutes and multi-lateral agencies.
